Adikaevsky (Адикае́вский), Vasily Vasilievich (1878-1940)


Russian poet and journalist.  Adikaevsky was born in St. Petersburg on March 28, 1878.  In 1903 he graduated from St. Petersburg University with a degree in law.  His first poems appeared in 1902.  He is remembered mostly for his satirical poetry which appeared in such magazines as Satirikon, The Sun of Russia, and Life and Justice.  After 1917 Adikaevsky stopped writing.  He died on February 29, 1940 in Leningrad.
